fireworks!
whee just came back from fireworks!! kinda planned yesterday in a rush coz we totally forgot the fireworks were so soon..met mary at around 7pm, coz he got tuition till 6:30pm... then we took the train to city hall.. we were thinking maybe everyone would go to marina bay/ marina south to watch.. and we thought we were taking a risk by going to the esplanade.. coz we were not even sure whether we would be able to see from there or not... and so when we got to city hall, 3/4 of the people on the train got off... we realized uh-oh...
with all the people and the time being 7:20pm, we were 10 minutes shy of the fireworks... since it was supposed to start at 7:30pm.. so we ran, weaved through people, took little shortcuts and basically rushed through citylink mall, at the same time realizing that almost all the people in the mall were going the same direction... we squeezed onto the ultra-crowded escalators, and took the lift to the rooftop... sadly it was CLOSED... so we rushed down to the waterfront and we realized half of singapore had decided to take a risk like us... and we were thinking everyone would be at marina bay... 0.0
when we got outside the sky wasn't even totally dark and we didn't hear anything, so we walked all the way down away from the esplanade and found a nice spot to sit and watch... it finally started at about 7:50pm?? end up it was to our left instead of the front like we expected, and everyone stood up to watch... so we stood too and there was a bloody tree blocking our view... damn... haha but it was pretty spectacular... took lots of shots but most turned out blur... and they HAD to set off the fireworks BEHIND the bridge so the bridge blocks many of the lower fireworks... how SMART... the whole display was about 15 minutes??
so after that we went to marina square and walked around... went to the supermarket and looked at food, talking rubbish, and getting hungry... then we went to the foodcourt and he took so long to buy carrot cake... ok la not his fault mebbe 1/4 of singapore was milling around the mall... hahaha... we shared a big plate and finished eating at about 9:30pm.. then we walked to the mrt and took the train home... bo liao so we took to marina bay and back to dhoby ghaut.. then took nel... photowhoring most of the train ride... =D hahaha so many mad shots... well, at one point almost the whole car we were in were taking pics so why not join in the fun? hahaha...
one of the nicest days i've had in a long time... =) thanks for tonight!!! =D
